lol, i'm getting a message up above about this thread being dead for a long time

here is whats gone on since feb. till now

picked up 40' of 1 1/4x.120 round tube, 2 sheets of 16 ga. and some trailer fenders.

i cut these out with my 4 1/2" water jet

and tacked up the beginning of the upper wishbone to check that it will operate smoothly. there will be a couple more pieces added once i get the tubing bent for it.

did some work with the hood.....

started with this

cut a big hole to let it close. motor sticks up about 1 1/2" too much. :x

took the skin of a 79 hood and increased the crown in it by rolling over my bmx bike tire several times

then i pie cut the hood so the edges will come down to stock height

the mark is the section that needs to be cut out

and got the one side tacked down

this is the beginning of my new core support

Here is how the 79 skin fits the 73 hood..

This is the left corner of the grille that I’m making..

And the core support so far. The angle with the holes is temporary until I get the center fabbed..

fabbed up the center section. still gotta cut the center out of it.

made up the inners

mounted the inners and tacked them up. the firewall side bolts into a hole that was originally for the hood hinge assembly. i'm making it where the core and inners will be removable so if i ever need to pull the engine.

i got the lip the fenders will bolt to tacked up.

and these are the rims i ordered in 20x8.5 with some 225/30/20 rubber

rims came in!!!!!

started changin up my upper link bars..

they got a little stretch, but not crazy like them drift cars have....

i got the rear all tacked up, and tested it out..

And some outside pics

cut up the bed, and started extending the lower front portion.

did some work.... i'm planning on shaving the back cab wall, so i decided to see what was hiding behind the bondo on my passenger b pillar.. started repairing it today. i'm planning on having the cab and fenders in white paint for west coast nats.
this big crease really shows how messed up it is underneath.. :x

i tried my stud gun, but the crease was way too tight.

so i cut the bad section out and and used a chromoly rod and a 6lb sledge to knock out the kink. then worked the body till it was pretty straight, and fabbed a patch. got it tacked in before i had to stop making noise

i've been planning this little mod for about a year now... decided to start it today since i was super bored.. lol
hard to see, but it's the 73 glass on top of a 84-88 glass

didn't take a before pic, so here is a reference pic of stock glass

got the 2nd side cut and tacked back together.

and started filling the gaps in. it's a bitch forming all the metal to match the stock channel.. lol

I got all the fillers welded in.

and a guy on toyotaminis.com mentioned i should use these tails.. i want em but they are gunna be a bitch to find! 58 toyopet crown

started on the valance.. gotta add end caps to the valance and reshape both fenders. also going to cut a design into the valance and recess it in to match the grille i'm going to make.

i started making the fenders match the contour of the valance. this is as far as i got before i was baking in the sun.. lol

ok here are the reamed supra spindles fitted with the screw in balljoints

2 reamers..... $160 :x

cut the tubing for the uppers and put them on the cross shafts

and fabbed the upper mount, bolts are temp till i get some 1/2"

alright since i gotta wait a bit and build up the fundage for some D.O.M. tube, i figured i'd mock up the suspension with cheap tube to check the travel and clearance.

tire tucked inside

here is the flaming river, 71-72 pinto rack narrowed 5". **this is as close to perfect a rack for 84-95 toyota geometry!!**

fabbed up a bracket and bolted it in. since the 1uz pan is crazy wide it's a tight fit. also planning to notch the sump :)

i also moved my upper mounts in 1/2", and narrowed my mock up lower 1/2". it makes for less camber, and cycles over 12"

today i removed the back cab wall and replaced it with 16 ga. steel. also flipped the truck around so i'm not baking in the sun while getting the suspension and steering buttoned up.

and me jammed into my truck

here are the finalized arms

had the one welded and ground down. all are welded and installed now. i'm planning on getting the control arms and links/wishbone chromed

and it's a roller now, but a hilux on 20's at full lift looks stupid.. lol so here is another random shot with the all wheels on finally
